The IC4 Programme is a multisensory framework for human-dog co-regulation.
You go out with your dog and it's okay but it's not quite how you imagined 'you and your dog'. Things could be better.
You already paid for a trainer and it didn't work out as you expected so now you're 'coping and hoping' that somehow it will click and all will be fine.
What you really struggle with is this; your dog did everything you wanted, for the trainer, but not for you.
So you know it's possible you just don't know how.
Let me share something with you.
Your dog was different for the trainer because the trainer was different from you.
People who work successfully with dogs are different - just as athletes are different, just as musicians are different, just as artists are different.
We're all different and dogs can tell the difference.
Dogs feel the difference between people the way athletes are 'in the zone', musicians hear pitch and artists see light. Dogs sense who you are, inside.
This is why we say; 'if you want your dog to behave differently then you have to behave differently'.
We also say 'behaviour is the external expression of the internal state'.
Successful 'dog trainers' are different on the inside.
IC4 shows you how to change on the inside - to become the person your dog wants to follow.
Not someday. Now
If you want a 'feel' for how we think and the direction of IC4 then answer the questions below. It is a quick read on how you relate to inner experience - because that is the lever IC4 uses.
Part 1: Your relationship with inner life
1. Which of these best describes your existing self-work (past or present)?
I have a consistent practice (meditation, yoga, breathwork, journaling, or similar)
I have explored a few things, but I am not consistent
I am new to this, but curious
This is not really my world
2. When life gets intense, what do you usually do first?
I think and analyse
I act and try to sort it
I feel it and need to process
I shut down or distract myself
It varies
3. Are you open to the idea that what you feel in your body (breath, tension, warmth, numbness) is information - not a problem to override?
Yes
Sometimes
Not yet
Part 2: Your Support System(s)
4. Which kinds of support have you explored - even once?
Yoga, movement practice, or somatic work
Meditation or contemplative practice
Breathwork, mantra, or voice work
Therapy, coaching, or trauma-informed work
Alternative therapies (acupuncture, Reiki, craniosacral, herbalism, etc.)
Nature-based regulation (sea, woods, hiking, cold water, soundscapes)
None of these yet
Part 3: Your readiness for a human-first approach
6. How do you feel about this statement: "My state shapes the interaction before any technique does"?
I already live this
I am open and curious
I am sceptical but willing to experiment
I would rather focus on dog training methods
7. Are you willing to practise one simple regulation ritual daily for 4-6 weeks (even if your dog’s behaviour changes slowly)?
Yes - I’ve done something similar before
Think so - with guidance
No
Quick read (no score)
This is a quick orientation, not a test. It helps you see whether IC4 will feel like relief or like a fight - and what kind of support you will need.
If you answered "I already live this" in Q5 and "Yes" in Q6: you are ready for the programme. You will likely move quickly once you have the framework and a clear structure.
If you answered "I am open and curious" or "I am sceptical but willing to experiment" in Q5 and "Think so - with guidance" in Q6: you are a good fit, and guidance will matter. The programme is designed for this - clear steps, repetition, and support so you do not have to figure it out alone.
If you chose "I think and analyse" in Q2: you will want the 'why' before the 'how'. IC4 gives you the model (so your mind can relax) and then the practices (so your body can change).
If you chose "I feel it and need to process" in Q2: you will want safety and pacing. IC4 is built around gentle, repeatable rituals that you can lean on when emotions run high.
If you chose "I act and try to sort it" in Q2: you will do best with a sequence you can follow under pressure. IC4 gives you a repeatable structure for what to do first, second, and third.
If you chose "I shut down or distract myself" in Q2: you are not broken - your system is protecting you. IC4 starts small and builds capacity without forcing you to push through.
If you answered "No" in Q6 or "I would rather focus on dog training methods" in Q5: you may find IC4 challenging at first. The programme will show you exactly why the human-first piece matters and how to make it practical (not mystical) - but only if you are willing to try it for long enough to feel the shift. Or you can explore further below.
If you are leaning towards "yes" or "maybe" in Q6, the fastest way forward is to join the IC4 programme so you can follow the structure step-by-step, rather than trying to piece it together from snippets, or you can explore further below.
